The Sandspire, known colloquially as the ‘Spire or the Spire, is a towering structure at the heart of Fayt. It stretches an unknown number of stories in height, a building made from metal and glass, and from what can be seen of the upper floors from various places in Fayt, they appear mostly intact (albeit with broken windows). The status of the highest floors or what they could possibly contain is also unknown.
The lower floors are largely collapsed, revealing a hole in Fayt’s center that is filled with water, its only known source. The bottom of this water source is not visible, rapidly fading into inky blackness even when illuminated by the brightest of lanterns. The water level never sinks and never rises, so it must be coming from somewhere. As it is the only water source in Fayt, many pulley systems have been set up that denizens use to retrieve fresh water, and some make their living in carting it to various stations or people. Some people have been known to try and fish in these waters; though it’s rare, a few have had success.
Only one significant part of the ground floor remains intact — a small walkway leading to a door that appears permanently sealed, at least from this side. It is here, outside this door, that a merchant first saw the Gemstones that would later hatch into Qurlin.
