Seasons
As it currently stands, Fayt and the surrounding areas only experience two seasons: the dry season, and the wet season.
Dry Season
The dry season lasts slightly longer than the wet season, and is when you see the weather most typical for the desert. The heat is overbearing, little rain blesses the lands, and some days, the wind can be fierce. Heat stroke can be a risk if not careful. The weather events you’ll typically see during the dry season include:
- Hot & Sunny
- Duststorm
- Drizzle
Wet Season
While the heat and lack of water can present a real problem, the wet season is where the true danger lies in the desert. During the wet season, torrential storms can saturate the sand, turning it into nearly a sea that will swallow you whole if you step off of solid ground. Lightning strikes are frequent and deadly, and in the city there can sometimes be a risk of flash floods. The weather events you’ll typically see during the wet season include:
- Drizzle
- Downpour
- Lightning Storm
Calendar & Time
There are 12 months in the Faythian calendar, each made up of roughly 30 days, each of which have roughly 24 hours1. This calendar follows the cycle of the only observable sun, which Ancestors have come to refer to as Catris. The months are as follows.
- Minath
- Ayan
- Aleth
- Yori
- Neriane
- Shamak
- Taksira
- Khalar
- Axenius
- Coronia
- Loromane
- Ithril The dry season lasts from Yori through Axenius, with the wet season starting in Coronia and lasting through Aleth. The time system by with Ancestors in Fayth abide by as a result of this sun cycle is known as Catris Stellar Time.
